An architecture of matter and imagination

Our proposal for the development of the Gadamerplatz as well as the extension area is based on the planned urban context. The main structures have the form of affine shapes and create a harmonious composition in their interaction.
The shapes of the buildings, squares and yards are alike and create a family together. Such strategy generates a calm and powerful guidance, that is unmistakably presented at this site and inserted into its context.

Coherent square spaces emerge because of the arrangement of separate building structures. They communicate with each other and can be collectively used for the communal celebrations. The interconnection of the places and their multiple usage cause the desired synergies. They are spatially related to each other and communicate with the current or adjacent places. In this spirit the campus will be extended into the schoolyard and the parkway to the Gadamerplatz.

In the urban sence it was important for us to stress and refurbish the axe of the Czerny Bridge and the Galilei Street, and thus create a sequence of places, that stretch from Shopping Mall in the North over to the school yard to Gadamerplatz and the southern park.
Every functional unit: the kindergarten, the primary school, the community center and the secondary school get an own forecourt, via which they can be accessed and receive a separate address.

In principle transparent/translucent materials are recommended for the building structures in the ground floor and the first floor. For the “flying” classrooms in the 2nd floor perforated opaque surfaces are planned.
